What do these nutrients do?In the kitchen
How to make it.
- Thinly slice the pepper and cucumber. Finely chop the chilli and garlic; remove chilli seeds if you prefer less heat.
- Mix the honey, half the lime juice, soy sauce and garlic. Stir the remaining lime into the yoghurt.
- Heat the oil in a frying pan. Add the cooked chicken and pepper with a splash of water, then heat thoroughly. Only reheat chicken once.
- Add the honey mixture and chilli. Toss over a medium heat for one to two minutes until glossy; do not let the honey burn.
- Warm the tortillas according to the pack. Spread with lime yoghurt, add chicken and cucumber, and divide into 2 portions.
Fit it around your training.
Why this combination?
The sweet, sour and salty glaze brings flavour without a long marinade. Tortillas provide carbohydrate and chicken supplies protein; the cucumber keeps the filling fresh.
When it could work for you
A satisfying lunch or dinner after training. Spicy food immediately before a run may not suit your stomach.
Plan food before, during & after your runStorage & leftovers.
Best assembled just before eating. Keep cold ingredients refrigerated and follow the earliest use-by date. Do not save reheated chicken for another reheating.
