What do these nutrients do?

How the estimates work

In the kitchen

How to make it.

  1. Stir the oats, milk and yoghurt in a lidded bowl or jar. Add a splash of water if you prefer looser oats.
  2. Cover and refrigerate for at least four hours or overnight.
  3. Slice the peeled banana. Stir half through the oats and add the rest on top.
  4. Swirl in the peanut butter just before serving. Add more milk or water to loosen, if needed.

Fit it around your training.

Why this combination?

Oats and banana provide carbohydrate; milk and yoghurt add protein and calcium. Peanut butter adds flavour and energy when appetite or time is limited.

When it could work for you

A breakfast after an early run, or before training when you have enough digestion time. The oats and peanut butter may feel too filling immediately before running.

Plan food before, during & after your run

Storage & leftovers.
